UPDATE: It's almost that time of year again! The staff at Oscar Adolphson Primary School are getting ready to welcome our students, new and returning, for the 2020-2021 school year.
To allow families the opportunity to meet teachers, discuss new protocols and guidelines, see their child’s classroom and drop off supplies, each classroom teacher in these grades will be having individualized meetings with students and their families in Kindergarten and Grade 1. These teachers will be meeting with families on Wednesday, September 2nd and Thursday, September 3rd.
For Kindergarten and grade 1, staggered entry will be Friday September 4 and Tuesday September 8. Stay tuned for further information.
For Grade 2-3, we will be following a staggered start for the days of Thursday September 3th; Friday September 4; and full days Tuesday, September 8th. Stay tuned for more information. Our staggered starts will allow half the class transition into the new year as well as learn school and classroom routines in a smaller setting.
Please keep an eye out for more school start up information as we finalize details. If you have any further questions please do not hesitate to contact the school at 780-524-3144 between the hours of 9am and 3pm.
Thank you to all of our families for taking the time to speak with us and answer our re-entry survey questions!

NON-MEDICAL FACE MASKS: WHY USE? WHAT TO CONSIDER? HOW TO WEAR?
Posted on September 11th, 2020
NGPS 2020-21 COVID-19 Re-entry Handbook updated September 10, 2020. To read more on the NGPS Mask Protocol please see Section 1 - Provincial Health Measures, Pages 9-14 of the Handbook.
WHY USE A NON-MEDICAL FACE MASK?
Non-medical face masks can play a role in reducing the transmission of COVID-19 in the community when the mask is worn properly and hygiene practices are followed, particularly when consistent physical distancing is not possible. Please see Alberta's Guidance for Wearing Non-Medical Face Masks for the General Public, Section 1.
WHAT TO CONSIDER WHEN SELECTING A NON-MEDICAL FACE MASK?
- Does it have multiple layers of tight woven fabric? (4 layers is optimal)
- Does the mask fit securely against your face, from nose to chin?
- Does the mask allow for clear breathing?
- Can you differentiate which side of the mask faces your mouth/faces out?
Please see Alberta's Guidance for Wearing Non-Medical Face Masks for the General Public, Section 8.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT
Parents can support their children by practicing mask wearing at home and by reinforcing that masks help us all stay safe and healthy. We truly appreciate the efforts of our families, staff, students and community to help keep everyone in good health.
